Korean Umbilicoplasty and Prices

The navel is a type of scar buried and surrounded by skin. The ideal navel is not too large, oval-shaped overall, and slightly covered by skin at the top.

It is often considered more beautiful and natural for the navel to be vertically shaped. However, individuals may consider navel plastic surgery if they have an “outie” navel, a horizontally shaped navel, or if the navel has widened during pregnancy due to separation of the abdominal muscles. Umbilicoplasty involves shaping the navel by removing fatty tissue while retaining its ideal shape. Since the surgery is performed internally, there is an advantage that no surgical traces are left externally.

Umbilicoplasty is Recommended For:

-Those with horizontally shaped navel

-Those with altered navel due to pregnancy

-Those with navel resembling a small melon

-Those with scars on the navel due to surgery or acquired causes

Precautions Before and After Umbilicoplasty

Before Surgery

-Please let us know if you’re taking any medications, especially those that may affect blood clotting, such as hormonal contraceptives or vitamin E.

-You must fast for 2 hours before surgery.

After Surgery

After umbilicoplasty, sutures are directly connected to the peritoneum inside the navel, which may sometimes appear as inflammation during the recovery period. However, this is a normal reaction seen during the healing process, not actual inflammation. There is no need to worry. If you suspect inflammation and undergo individual treatment or receive treatment at another hospital, it may worsen the condition. Therefore, if you have any concerns it is crucial to visit the hospital for confirmation.

-The day after surgery, it’s crucial to visit the hospital for disinfection treatment.

-Starting from 3-4 days after surgery, you can apply a waterproof bandage to the surgical site and shower. However, do not remove any gauze or dressings placed in the navel, and immediately remove the waterproof bandage after showering.

-The stitches are removed around 2 weeks after surgery (depending on individual recovery), during which time, do not remove the tape placed on the navel.

-Do not apply any medication other than the ones provided by the hospital for treatment of the navel area.

-It’s necessary to take prescribed pain relievers and antibiotics after surgery.

Avoid direct pressure on the abdomen for one month after surgery.

-Light exercise, alcohol consumption, and smoking are permitted one month after surgery.

Prices of Korean Umbilicoplasty

While plastic surgery may not be needed for all gifts received from parents, even minor aspects like the navel can cause insecurity for some. Particularly for fashion-conscious women, the appearance of the navel reflects the appearance of the abdomen. However, navel surgery comes with risks like scarring, infection, and bleeding. Hence, careful consideration is vital. Costs in Korea vary based on factors like navel shape and condition.
